Monica Grinnell and Marilyn Gilbaugh opened Eat Your Heart Out Catering in 1975. The first storefront was a small cafe on NW 23rd Avenue serving delightful baked goods. They decided to expand, opening a bistro in 1984.
In order to travel and pursue other interests, Marilyn sold her share to Monica in 1992; the bistro was sold to Santa Fe Taqueria and Monica carried on as a full-service catering company.
Today she is going strong having built a fabulous reputation among Portland's hosts and corporations. Monica works closely with her daughter, Chloe Fennell,grooming her to carry on the family business. Chloe completed her training with Greens Restauant and Paula Le Duc Catering in San Francisco.
